Expansive soils created vertical slab movement of five to seven inches, rendering the upper two levels of the structure inaccessible to light trucks and SUVs. Marx|Okubo analyzed existing conditions, determined repair strategies and managed the renovations, which included excavating seven feet of subgrade soil and replacing it with compacted select fill, as well as installing a permanent drainage system. Our attention to detail and constant client collaboration resulted in a full renovation that was completed within budget and ahead of schedule with minimal disruption to garage operations.
