Houston, TXProject scope: A 112-unit, six-story concrete-frame building with stucco and EIFS-clad exterior, constructed in 1998 suffered from severe water infiltration at walls and windows due to a hurricane event.
Without requiring residents to vacate, Marx|Okubo performed intricate forensic studies to determine cause of failure and possible remedies; prepared corrective plans and specifications; managed the reconstruction and repairs; and compiled highly detailed documentation for potential insurance reimbursement. As a part of our measured approach, we also brought the facility up to current industry standards for both wind forces and rain intrusion.
