Robert Phinney, AIA, LEED Fellow, Fitwel

Robert, Co-director of ESG, provides a range of ESG and resilience services including climate risk assessment, materiality reviews, decarbonization strategies, and providing guidance on regulatory impacts and corporate-level ESG reporting.

As an architect for over 25 years, Robert has over 15 years leading sustainability consulting services within global architectural/engineering firms and the integration of sustainability and resilience within design practices. He has overseen ESG reporting and regulatory compliance, as well as the implementation of strategies and programs to promote continual improvements. Prior to joining Marx|Okubo, Robert was the vice president for sustainability at Vornado Realty Trust, and the director of sustainability at such firms as Page Southerland Page, HDR, and Wisnewski Blair & Associates.

Robert earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and a master’s degree in architecture from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), a LEED Fellow, and a Fitwel Ambassador.
