Demonstrating Marx|Okubo's growth across the country, we are pleased to announce the addition of five new staff members: Philip Ragland, AIA, LEED AP, in the New York office; Shane Christian, AIA, NCARB, in the Dallas office; Carmen McCafferty, AIA, in the Seattle office; and Sean Paradine, AIA, and Joel Ochs, Associate AIA, Licensed GC, LEED GA, in the Southern California office.
Philip Ragland, Senior Associate, has over 25 years of architectural experience managing project teams and assisting clients on academic, judicial, institutional and high-rise office and commercial buildings. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in architecture from Virginia Tech, and is a licensed architect in New York and New Jersey.
Shane Christian, Senior Associate, brings two decades of domestic and international experience in pre-design, design, pre-construction, project management, program management, design liability, risk management, and construction administration experience. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design and a Master’s degree in Architecture from Texas A&M, and is a licensed architect in Texas.
Carmen McCafferty, Associate, has over 15 years of experience in architecture and construction management on large mixed-use buildings, where she has been responsible for all tasks related to a project – from blank site conception through construction administration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Washington, and is a licensed architect in Washington.
For over 20 years, Sean Paradine, Associate, has worked as job captain, project manager, spec writer, and construction administrator on projects ranging from low-rise commercial office buildings and ADA surveys to interior, retail, and residential facilities, with a strong background in educational K-12 facilities. He holds a Bachelor's degree in architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and is a licensed architect in California.
Joel Ochs, Project Manager, brings over 15 years of nationwide experience in architecture and construction. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction Management Technology from Purdue University and a Master's of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture, and is a licensed General Contractor in California.
