A Big Year in Hospitality

The hotel market has been heating up, and Marx|Okubo worked hard to support our clients in that sector in 2013. Marx|Okubo condition assessment teams worked on over 65 hotel acquisitions for 23 different clients. The projects were distributed all across the country in 20 different states and represented over 6.5 million square feet of building area.
The teams faced varied environments ranging from a tropical site at Kapalua on Maui to the humidity of the French Quarter in New Orleans to the urban environs of Copley Square in Boston. The properties ranged from boutique resorts to massive convention center-based, center-city developments.
In addition to our acquisition-related work, we provided owner's representation services on a number of new hotels under construction, as well as properties being modernized, upgraded and repaired.
