Hayward Affordable Housing Project

Marx|Okubo recently participated in a celebratory groundbreaking for a 125-unit affordable housing complex located in the City of Hayward, California. Depot Community Apartments is a permanent supportive-housing community, and one of the city’s first new all-electric developments developed by Allied Housing, the development arm of Abode Services. Abode is one of the largest homeless and housing services organization in the Bay Area.

“It was a pleasure working on this important project for the last two years,” says Tommy Fong, Assistant Vice President. “Our goal was to keep the Depot project on track through the design, contracting, and permitting phases and provide expert support to the owner, and we are excited to have achieved that and see it all come to fruition at this milestone event.”

Half of the brand-new studio apartments will serve households experiencing homelessness. Additional supportive services at Depot Community Apartments are designed for at-risk individuals who require stable housing.
