Assistant Vice President
Rui, Assistant Vice President in the Northeast region, leads and oversees projects and delivers of risk assurance. He is engaged in construction document reviews, cost evaluations, field observations, corrective recommendations; formal reports preparation, and client communication on new and existing construction. Rui brings deep domain expertise to this role, with many years of commercial architectural experience spanning both design and project management, contributing particular depth in large-scale residential and municipal investment projects.
Prior to joining Marx Okubo, Rui’s most recent role was as a senior project manager for CBRE’s (formerly IVI’s) advisory and consulting division– where he was delivered sound construction risk mitigation consulting services to a wide variety of clients, including investment and commercial banks, corporations, individual investors and property owners, and other stakeholders in the northeastern US region. In that role, Rui quickly distinguished himself as a leader and expert in the construction risk management field, providing stakeholder guidance and solutions, which were reliable, robust, timely and detailed.
Rui holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology, located in Boston, Massachusetts. Also, he is a licensed architect in Connecticut and a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
