This project consisted of the construction of a seven-story, 195,000-square foot hospital comprised of 75 inpatient rooms, 10 operating suites, four internationally virtually connected surgical training operating suites with training and research facilities, and an adjacent six-story, 167,000-square-foot integrated medical office building and an ambulatory surgery center with 12 operating suites and three procedure rooms. Other facility highlights include Phases l and ll patient recovery areas, various medical labs, three nurse’s stations, a pharmacy, five waiting rooms, a reception area, a gift shop, a kitchen serving the cafeteria, a chef’s office, staff and executive offices, staff lounges, conference rooms, equipment storage, and several locker rooms. Exterior walls are a combination of glazed aluminum curtainwall and fiber-reinforced concrete panels. Metal panels are used as accents and trim.

Marx Okubo performed pre-construction project reviews of the construction documents and design, owner’s representation and program management services throughout construction, focusing on details of quality of work, budget adherence, etc. Our team helped the owner deliver the project on budget and on schedule because we were able to anticipate issues related to building operations and maintenance ahead of time.

Marx Okubo provided essential feedback on key electrical submittals, enabling the team to incorporate new technology necessary for the hospital through careful planning and anticipating future upgrades.
