Marx Okubo determined factors contributing to excessive concrete slab deflection and radial slab cracking at columns on a new build. Analyzing issues from material, procedural and quality-control perspectives, we performed a comprehensive study, including a comparative topographic survey; ground-penetrating radar (GPR) non-destructive testing; integrated destructive testing and petrographic analysis of concrete material; and independent comparative slab computer modeling.
