The Press has engaged Marx Okubo to perform property condition assessments and owner’s representation for its properties, which are formerly known as the LA Times Press buildings and have been renovated to create a multi-purpose spaces. Marx Okubo’s involvement in this process will span three to four phases–in a project with a lot of moving parts.
The firm’s role is to ensure that the owner is informed of all progress on site, while looking out for construction issues or potential concerns that may arise, tracking the budget and schedule, and monitoring overall project management to help the owner understand all the different, dynamic components.
With a project of this scale, thorough quality control checks are critical during construction and project management, and Marx Okubo ensures they are carried out consistently. As this is a historical site, it is important that the authenticity of the buildings is respected and, because of this, many parts of the original printing press are being preserved and reused as decorative features throughout the property. Marx Okubo is helping The Press bring new use to an old property–smoothly and responsibly.
