Charles Killebrew, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP

Charles is Executive Vice President for Marx|Okubo and has been a valuable leader and team member within the firm for over 10 years. In his role, he drives strategy companywide and brings focus to achieving operational excellence and optimal performance outcomes throughout the organization. Charles has long-standing experience leading Marx|Okubo’s Southeast region and project teams across a broad range of services. During this time, he was instrumental in the consolidation of two regions into one larger Southeast region, providing critical leadership, consistency, and quality control throughout and after the transition.

With over 30 years of experience in architecture and building consulting, Charles has successfully managed design and construction-phase services on complex projects for leading corporate and institutional clients worldwide. These experiences have included extensive engagement in high-rise office and residential projects, as well as regional destination retail, hospitality, and international mixed-use developments. Prior to joining Marx|Okubo, he worked as a project manager for such notable firms as Pickard Chilton, John Portman & Associates, NBBJ, and Perkins & Will.

Charles holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and is a licensed architect in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, and Virginia. He is a LEED Accredited Professional, Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider (BECxP), Commissioning Authority + Building Enclosure Knowledge Requirements (CxA+BE), and is certified with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and former Treasurer of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
