Chris, Assistant Vice President at MarxlOkubo, works with clients to develop and implement the best solutions for their needs. He is involved with pre-construction project reviews, construction administration, construction monitoring, and facility condition assessments, as well as managing staffing and administrative needs.

Chris has over 25 years of experience as an architectural principal at national and international design firms focusing on sustainability, envelope design, specification writing, accessibility, and construction oversight for a range of project types including healthcare and higher education. Prior to joining Marx|Okubo, Chris has opened and managed regional offices for multiple architectural firms and has also worked in real estate development and as an owner’s representative for a national healthcare system.

Throughout his career, Chris has had the opportunity to work with clients such as Mass General Brigham, Boston Children’s Hospital, Yale New Haven Health, Mount Sinai Health System, Oxford Churchill NHS Trust, Royal Hospital Chelsea, USMA at West Point, Johns Hopkins University, Rhodes College, Thomas Jefferson University, University of Massachusetts, University of Connecticut, Marriott Hotels, and multiple states and municipalities.

Chris holds bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and history and a master’s degree in architecture from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. He is a licensed architect in the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York as well as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). In addition, he holds a Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certification from the Construction Specification Institute. Chris has additional certifications that include Engineer in Training (EIT) and OSHA 10, and he is a member of American Institute of Architects (AIA), Baltimore AIA, Construction Specification Institute (CSI), and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). He volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, CANstruction, KidsBuild!, and Citizen Schools and has been a guest of the Architectural Critic for University of Hartford and Boston Architectural College.
