Chris is Vice President and the Northeast region’s Building Envelope group leader at Marx|Okubo, providing specialized support relative to building enclosures nationally, as well as related project services in this region. Chris serves as a mentor and technical resource for Marx|Okubo’s in-house building envelope staff. He focuses his experience and expertise on a wide range of project involvement, including direct envelope consulting for new developments, renovations, investigation and repair projects, as well as support for property condition assessments.

Trained as an architect, Chris practiced as a design architect for the first half of his career before shifting into building envelope specialty consulting about 10 years ago. Before joining Marx|Okubo, he worked in various international firms leading their respective building envelope or facade groups. While capable in all aspects of building envelope work from existing masonry to new construction, his focus lies in glazing systems and specialty facade systems (i.e., structural glass, cable facades, etc.).

Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri as well as a master’s degree in advanced architectural design (with an emphasis on advanced materials and systems) from Columbia University in New York.

He is certified with the American’s Institute of Architects (AIA), National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), and is a LEED Accredited Professional with the BD+C specialty. In addition, he is pursuing his CPHC (Certified PassivHaus Consultant) certification.
