Mario, Vice President of Construction in Marx|Okubo’s West region, evaluates client needs and provides the best approach to project execution. He also reviews staff deployment and performance to optimize client service while providing national integration and coordination of project and construction management services.

He has more than 35 years of experience in program management, construction, construction management, project management, and executive and operations management. Previously, while working as the global head of cost management for Google, he refined the cost management process as an enhancement to the project management approach in place. He has managed data center projects in a project and cost management role. As Vice President, Project Executive and Project Principal at Harris and Associates, he worked to complete numerous infrastructure projects, such as highways, wastewater plant expansion projects and municipal projects. He has also managed building projects including John Muir Hospital -Concord, John Muir Hospital - Walnut Creek, Catholic Healthcare West’s Mercy Merced Hospital and MOB Merced, as well as construction management work for the Federal Highway Administration. His experience includes estimating and risk management on major projects for tech and pharmaceutical clients.

Mario holds a bachelor’s degree in management from St. Mary’s College of California, a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of California Berkeley and a M.B.A in finance from St. Mary’s College of California. He has multiple certifications including: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector, Certified Master Antiterrorism Specialist, Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (Project Management) and as a LEED Accredited Professional. His professional affiliations include the Project Management Institute, U.S. Green Building Certification Institute, Construction Management Association of America and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
