As Vice President and Regional Manager of Marx|Okubo’s Mountain-Midwest region, Michael is focused on developing and implementing the region’s overall strategy and operations. He oversees clients while allocating human resources, managing schedules, and collaborating with other regions.
As a longtime member of the firm’s mechanical engineering group, and with over 20 years’ experience in the field, Michael also contributes to the region’s teams his insights and expertise in project work. He brings much experience in upfront document and cost reviews on new and existing renovation construction projects, construction monitoring services for rehabilitation and new construction projects, and coordination and writing of property and facility condition reports for the purchase, sale and refinancing of commercial real estate. He is also well-versed in sustainability and energy studies, as he is credentialed as both a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP).
Prior to joining Marx|Okubo, Michael worked at Denver companies as an associate mechanical engineer and mechanical engineer. In these positions, he collaborated with architects, owners and other engineers to develop construction drawings for new and renovation construction projects, created layout/design and selected the HVAC and plumbing systems for construction projects, and built and modified the specifications for mechanical equipment and systems for specific construction projects.
Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tulane University and is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado. Michael is a member of Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the U.S. Green Building Council and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (ASHRAE).
