The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established the Energy Star program in 1992. Since that time, 40% of all Fortune 500 companies have relied on their partnership with Energy Star to deliver cost saving energy efficient solutions. Does your building have an Energy Star rating? If so, there are big changes coming as of August 26, 2018. The most impactful change is the fact that building owners will not be able to obtain their building's before and after scores, after the update takes place. Thus, we highly recommended that building owners download a copy of their current building's score before the aforementioned date. After the update takes place, compare your building's new score with the original score; and, if your new number is below 75, feel free to contact Marx|Okubo for assistance with opportunities to help improve your building's score to maintain its Energy Star rating.
