Construction Project Manager

Construction Project Manager candidates must be able to oversee construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. Position responsibilities include:

  • Prepare preliminary budget and schedule for clients
  • Prepare Divisions 00 and 01
  • Coordinate deliverables by professionals of record in order to issue a complete bid package
  • Prepare bid analysis ad underwrite contractor strengths and weaknesses
  • Conduct project meetings efficiently and prepare meeting minutes
  • Review applications for payment for different contract types and make recommendations
  • Implement and enforce construction contract terms
  • Track submittals, RFIs, etc. Assist with the negotiation of and drafting of contracts (and change orders) with architects/engineers/consultants and contractors
  • Write letters and reports. Coordinate punch lists, and prepare close-out documentation

Our work covers most commercial building types, including office, retail, industrial, hotel/hospitality, and multi-family.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in architecture, civil engineering, or construction management or related field is required
  • Minimum 5 years experience at an architecture, engineering, or construction company
  • For architectural candidates, in progress on AXP requirements and/or taking ARE exams
  • Strong understanding of Construction processes and activities
  • Strong understanding of building materials and methods
  • Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • General understanding of construction details and building codes. Knowledge of construction management software packages and different construction contract types and forms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; Bluebeam, Plan Grid, and BOX
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The ability to travel out of town is a requirement for the position.
