Human Resources Manager

Marx Okubo Associates Inc., headquartered in Denver Colorado, is seeking a Human Resources Manager. Marx|Okubo is a professional organization and consultant for the built environment dedicated to serving real estate owners, corporations and lenders. On behalf of our clients, we provide services such as owner representation, project management and consulting for new, existing and renovations of commercial and residential facilities. Responsibilities Generally May Include:

  • Oversee recruiting activities to include recruiting firms, on-line providers, and conduct prequalification interviews
  • Develop and implement talent retention and professional development programs
  • Analyze wage and salary reports, as related to the market, to recommend competitive compensation plans, including base, bonus, benefits, and other compensation
  • Develop and administer employee onboarding activities
  • Participate with management on the appropriate resolution of employee issues
  • Administer benefits programs (open enrollment), including life, health, dental, vison, 401k, PTO, and the ESOP
  • Workers' compensation insurance administration
  • Oversee company employee related compliance issued by federal, state, and local agencies
  • Maintain and update employee handbook to include state supplements
  • Work with outside legal counsel on matters relating to employment
  • Assist with development and creation of employee communication tools
  • Oversee payroll functions
  • Skilled in deductive reasoning, i.e., the ability to apply general guidelines to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Independent project management skills, flexibility, and organization; excellent time management skills
  • Customer service orientation framed by exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information, personal integrity, excellent judgement and high ethical standards
  • Conveys sense of enthusiasm for his/her role and contributions
  • Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, word, excel, and power point
  • Self-directed and detailed oriented individual with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with deadlines and take a creative approach to problem resolution
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, PHR or SHRM-CP Certification required
  • 7+ years' experience in human resources
  • ADP Experience
  • Multi state experience desired, Marx Okubo has 175 employees, with offices in 6 states, CO, CA, WA, NY, GA, TX
  • Experience in the architecture and engineering industry a plus
