Facilities Condition Assessment and Preliminary Infrastructure Review
Fort Valley State University, situated approximately 100 miles south of Atlanta, is a unit of the University System of Georgia and a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Established in 1895, the 1,365-acre campus is the largest in the area for Georgia State schools.
In 2018, Marx|Okubo was engaged to review the condition of 13 of the campus’ buildings comprising a total of 399,002 square feet of area, in accordance with the standards set forth in ASTM E2018-15. Marx|Okubo’s efforts allow the University System to align with its stated purpose of maintaining facilities that are physically sound, highly functional, visually attractive and safe—by identifying imminent repairs and replacements and allowing action plans to be developed and corresponding funds confirmed.
